Disney Christmas

Last year, the children received 5 day passes to Disney.  We visited in March for three park days the week before the world shut down.  Knowing we still had two days left to play at Disney, we watched the Covid numbers throughout the remainder of the year and hoped for the best.  A window of opportunity appeared and we jumped for the opportunity close out this crazy year for one last visit to Mickey's house.
It's been 9 months of uncertainty but during those 9 months, we had one girl who grew out of her fear of rollercoasters, one little girl who grew tall enough to ride all of the rides that her older siblings love to ride, and we took our travel needs down to one stroller.
To say we had the best time is an understatement.  It was magical.  Probably the most magical yet.  We visited Epcot and Magic Kingdom.  Both parks were maybe 1/3 full.  Yes, there were lots of people but not nearly the amount that was there with us in March.  Everyone wore masks correctly, no one trying to cheat the system.  Everyone allowed for distance during the lines.....of course Disney has done a phenomenal job of making the lines doable for distancing as well.  Hand sanitizer was available everywhere you turned.  So clean....all of it.  The added bonus was that our entire family was able to ride the rides together.....and everyone loved them except for the Haunted Mansion which has probably haunted our littles for life.
Chapman was full speed ahead.  She had her arms up for the roller coasters and her hands over the bars when the rides ended, begging to go again.  One memory will always be getting off of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster.....I got out of the set and Cha promptly pushed the bar down to lock it.  I said, "Chapman, what are you doing?  We have to get off.." as I looked frantically around for help.  She said, "What?!?  I loved it!  I want to go again!" Meanwhile, Maryn, who proclaimed in March that she was never riding a roller coaster again, was adamant that she would be fine on a coaster this trip.  She rode with Maddox, who coached her the entire way, and they both got off all smiles begging to go again as well!
There were a few things that were less than stellar....one, our traditional hot dog dining at Casey's Corner was out due to it being closed....and, two, Ryan was most upset that his favorite ride of all time, the People Mover, was also closed.  The parades have been cancelled tho we did get a quick glance as a few Christmas floats went by....the characters are not out and about which was fine as we don't typically stand in line for those anyway.
Epcot provided for the Frozen ride which is always fun, two Test Track runs complete with one shutting down while the children were on it - lights came on and all, Soarin never disappoints, and a trip to China....China brought on a need to eat Chinese food.  This made me laugh a bit.  We don't typically eat Chinese food....maybe once a year at most.  But, when in China, do as the Chinese and eat all the things.  We ordered and then had to go back for more.  Then, the boys apparently made a pact in March that they were going to buy daggers from China when we returned.  They made us all laugh with this decision.....and then they proceeded to make true on their pact and purchased two daggers straight from the cabinet.
Memories were made and our family was together....the trip was a win-win for all of us!
