All Star Swimmers!

Even amongst the darkened clouds and raindropping skies, our swimteam prevailed....we have had one exciting season winning not only all of our swimmeets but also taking home the First Place spot in our division! Awesome! Last night we celebrated with the team and the boys received awards and trophies for their individual jobs well done. C, along with his ribbons aplenty, was the recipient of the "I DO NOT want to swim the IM" award....this award has a story but I won't go there :) Pryce was granted, along with his ribbons galore, the "COOLEST hair" award. We asked P why he thought this was chosen for him and his response was "well, after I swim my events, I get out of the pool and my hair kind of flips out like a saucer everytime"....ok, an appropriate award. At the current moment, the boys are outside doing jobs that Ryan assigned to them....one job involves picking up sticks that were strewn about our yard last night during a fairly exciting storm. Alas, boys will be boys. They are choosing to use the largest sticks as weapons and all of the smaller sticks - that are yet to be picked up - are their wounded enemies. And me, I sit and type, all the while enjoying their youthful playing yet wondering what type of outcome this job of picking up sticks is going to have.....

Our Big Girl

Today was MK's special day. Today she officially turned 2 1/2 years old. And today, well really in recent weeks, I noticed she is just BIG. So many people have commented to me how big, old and "not so baby" she looks lately....and it is so true. At 2 1/2, her favorite things to say are "What happened?", "I did it mommy!", "Boys! NO!" and she sings constantly to anyone who will listen. She is a fish in the pool....not afraid of any aspect of the water. She jumps in, she honestly tries to do flips, she splashes....she is totally a free spirit in the water. Her favorite hobby to date is cutting paper followed by "cooking" with her dry beans. She loves to "help mommy" with chores. She is a sweetheart with a hard head - that is my nice way of saying she is strong willed! Very. But not a day goes by that we don't just laugh at and with her. Happy 1/2 birthday MK!
