This week I spent some time going through our crafts cabinet as it needed a bit of cleaning out! I came across Maddox's journal from last year during her First Grade class. I love her heart and I pray everyday she knows that it really is OK to be adopted and that she is unique in her own special way! My girls are loved and cherished in a way that I often can't find the words to describe.
The two littles and I have been spending quite a bit of time outside together lately. And it usually results in this....chalk all over the driveway AND the girls as well as dirt spread from head to toe.
Look, its Cheeto lipstick - every parent's joy!
This girl LOVES Cheetos and the idea of orange lipstick!
Maddox and her friend, Brooklyn, are the best of buddies and they are never at a loss for creativity.
During my cleaning out endeavors, I also came across a 2 inch binder with very clear instructions not to throw away! (I may be known as a throw-awayer and not a hoarder....if something is missing, they often say it has been thrown away by me - ha!)
I did save the binder AND I couldn't resist taking pics of their work.....
they are just too cute and I love that Maddox LOVES to write!
So thankful for their friendship!
And more....now, just why would one save these?!?!?
Some of my favorite memories and hardest laughs with my boys stem from shopping. We have Halloween coming up and with that comes opportunities to dress-up for Social Dance Club. I spied these jewels. $5 later and the boys are cracking me up with their ideas on how these babies should be worn!
And it didn't stop there....wigs and sunglasses.....
top hats and tattoos....oh goodness.
MK
This girl. I am so thankful for her. I have always said that MK will allow certain people into her world and, once in, she will love them fiercely and be that true friend everyone desires. This week I had a mother come to me and say, "My daughter adores MK. She came home after school one day and told me that MK is a true friend, a keeper!" Let your light keep shining MK!
Chapman and I had a day of tests and appointments for her one year post-op visit with her neurosurgeon. She is all things silly and doesn't quite stop as she used to for me to take pics!
Great news! Her latest MRI looks fabulous, her spine is laying where it should....her dr. said to follow-up "as needed"....meanwhile, let her be a kid!
Maryn Gentry
This one is precious. I recently told Ryan my new "perfect" age is 5. She is just all things wonderful....she is putting it all together now, so curious and putting things together that didn't make sense before, she is happy, so proud of herself and she doesn't go a day without wishing she was older! She has started weaning from her daily afternoon nap....and on this day, she was adamant that she wasn't tired and she wanted to just do crafts on the kitchen floor while I put Chapman down for her nap. It got quiet. And, bam, she was out....on the floor....and when she woke, she declared it was the most comfortable place she had ever slept!
Speaking of wishing one could be older....Chapman doesn't miss a beat. This blog really doesn't do her justice. A day in the life of Chapman is unforgettable really. She is, by far, the most active child in our family yet. Anything the bigs can do, she thinks she can do better. She has a will and there is a way! She is the sweetest, busiest, strong-willed, most perfect little 3 year old ever!
Maddox Ren
She is just beautiful. Always has been. One thing to note....she does NOT like a good bow. Nope. So, we have a rule....bows on Sundays for church and I typically pull her hair back or braid it for school. On picture day I insisted she wear a bow and she reluctantly agreed. All this to say, her bow days are coming to an end. So fun to see them grow up and have their little opinions yet so sad too :/
All in all, Drafts are doing good. We received report cards this week.....everyone had As....there was one with a B, and one with a C - AP Chemistry will do that to you! It's kicking our tail, this AP Chemistry nonsense. College for C is on the horizon....he is busy taking the SAT and ACT and trying to figure out what his next year will look like after high school. Football for P is coming to an end....he has one last game next week....he LOVES every minute of his time on the field! MK is full swing with ballet rehearsals for their upcoming Nutcracker performance. Maddox continues to bend daily into positions that just do not seem possible....and she LOVES ballet! Maryn is just sweetly enjoying life. And Chapman...she is in the midst of it all not letting any of us forget just where we stand in her world! Ha!
