Christmas Season Unplugged

I love watching this baby girl perform....and it was a special treat this year because this is the first time she has ever given it her best and participated!  Years past, she would stand there and look a little glazed over....and she would tell us later she was scared....we said it was the "China Stare," the same stare she gave when our friend would take pics of her in the orphanage as she waited on us to come. But she is scared no more and she was loving her time on stage!
This little one is as sweet as they come....and she is a bit mischievous too :)  One just never knows what her little mind is thinking and we are thankful every moment for each little piece of her personality!
 Baby Chapman
Goodness, it is hard to believe that two years ago we were days of away from seeing her sweet little face for the first time ever....and we thought we were done, ha!  So thankful we listened as God led us to her and allowed us to bring her home!
 Ballerina #3
She loves a good dance and she did beautifully in her production of the "mice" scene from the Nutcracker!
When you bring a team for support, one must be willing to feed the team and share the snacks!
**What is funny about this pic....I told Maddox that I was so thankful Maryn was sharing and not fussing over who got what....Maddox said, "Mom, in this picture, I was telling her how awful that cookie was!  I took a bite of the same cookie at school today and it was HORRIBLE!"
Pryce and his buddies for the Christmas Social Dance
These two go way back, beginning at the age of six....it's been a wonderful ride and I love having a front seat as I watch how God works in each of their hearts.
Pryce and Kaylee....another friendship that began early, as early as Kindergarten and they continue to make memories in their teens!
MK and her crew....each of these girls holds a special place in my heart.  They love my girl and I love their friendships.  Such fun to see them together for their first boy/girl dance....and hearing the tales of the evening as I drove them all home was priceless!
Maddox Ren....she loves her school and her art teacher allows for such creativity!
Sometimes my picture taking is a bit much, lol.  So, this time I was asked to take a pic of the nutcracker as she held it.
A little holiday skit as they prepared for school break....
 BFFL
Best Friends For Life
I hope they always love and encourage one another as they do now.  They used to call themselves the "sister friends" but now they are the BFFLs.
Our annual friends and Gingerbread houses....
 lots of giggles....
 just a few messes....
and one dainty little decorator (the rest were not so dainty, ha!)
everyone had a favorite friend or two to share the day with....
and I loved seeing these girls all happy and excited for the holidays!
Our dainty decorator had her own way of eating the house....face first, no hands allowed!
Treasure hunt, Apples to Apples, pizza and....
and evening lights scavenger hunt....such fun!
A girls' night out with daddy....the Singing Christmas Tree is a favorite!
We have had a few days in the upper 50s/low 60s.  My girls thought it was summer!  They proceeded to "wash" my tupperware on the porch while I made some holiday goodies to share.....
a warm bath was needed after their porch shenanigans!
I looked over to see Maddox getting the last drop of tea....she turned around and said, "What?! I like the last drop!" Ha!
This week has been great fun!  I love the traditions and I love hearing how we need to keep them strong as everyone grows up!

MK's First Nutcracker Performance

Being a part of the ballet company means participating in their three large shows of the year!
She has made the sweetest friends....
and grown a bit too as she has been given the responsibilities of hair, make-up, and costume care.....
She has also been a role model for her younger siblings who dream of one day being a part of the  ballet company too!
Maddox was gifted with two opportunities to see the show which she was thrilled about!  Seeing her teachers AND her sister onstage is a huge encouragement to her.
For the Friday evening performance, we went with a group of friends whom we have seen the show with each year for six years.
It's always good times with a lot of little girls and their sweet mamas for the evening....
Two of Maryn's favorites were a part of this crowd....these three are the sweetest little pre-k 4 school and church friends!
As MK gets older, she continues to put restrictions on when and where I can take photos of her!  I was so thankful to get this pic - a genuine smile, post-performance number 3, make-up box in hand and flowers for a job well done!
In the alley, her sister needed a photo too....and big sister agreed!  So thankful for the love these two share.
Nutcracker one is in the books and now it is time for a bit of rest for this ballerina!  Next up, ROAR!
