The boys received a volcano for Christmas from my sister. With school being out earlier in the week, we decided to give the volcano a try. The boys were like mad scientists with their goggles and their measuring devices....it was very cute and they worked very well together as a team. The end result, a major volcanic eruption, not once but twice!

Mason-Kate stood clear of all volcanic activity. She chose, instead, to chase poor Finley around with body deodorant and apply it to his fur coat. I guess she thought he did not smell so good! Later, she quietly went into her room and read Purpilicious to her baby.

Our friend, Brandon, remains in the hospital after suffering from a heart attack one week ago today. He turned 36 the day of his attack. He is having a procedure done this afternoon and we are hoping to have him home over the weekend so long as everything goes well. We have loved every minute of our time with their three children. We continue to pray for Brandon's health as well as for a smooth adjustment to a new lifestyle at home.

North V South

Ryan and I lived up north for just over a year. During that time we would joke that we should keep a little notebook of the differences of the north and south - driving habits, their phrases, the hospitality, the weather, etc. Never in our conversations did we discuss the possible myriad of uses that one snow shovel could bestow. You think snow shovel and you think of shoveling snow. Well, on Monday, Pryce brought the uses for a snow shovel to a new realm as he proceeded to rake and scoop up the leaves (with said shovel) that have accumulated in our backyard!
