Maryn Gentry Drafts

 Maryn meaning "wished-for child"
Gentry meaning "gentle; noble; courteous"

The photos above are some of the first photos we saw of her....those lips drew us in not to mention her sweet, squishy cheeks!

This week we were fortunate to get an update on our girl!  Most noted is her diet....it states that her favorite foods are cake, fruit, and CHOCOLATE!

Maryn, we think of you every moment of every day.  We wonder aloud what you will think of your family - we are a bit chaotic at times yet full of adventure and fun!  We dream about holding you; we stare at your photos almost constantly.  We cannot wait to hear your giggles and see you smile!  Hold on, sweet girl, we are coming soon!

Happy 12th Birthday Pryce!

My heart skips a beat with this birthday.....12 is a big deal, ya know?!
So, we did what every big birthday year deserves and celebrated big with family and friends!
Camping was on the mind of our newly turned 12 year old so camping we went - well, camping dad and friends went:)
They found this nice, quiet spot on the shores of the nearby lake....
they swam, fished, made s'mores, ate insane amounts of junkfood, swam some more, slept a little.....
and then when that party ended, we all gathered with cousins and grandparents for Pryce's special request, a family party....
Pryce is all about a good celebration!
And when the day was done, P decided it was appropriate to take a spin on his sister's bike just to show that 12 year olds will be 12 year olds!
We are so thankful for our Pryce!  When he is around, there is never a dull moment....he is our entertainer, our fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of guy, our avid baseball player, our big-hearted softy, our Lego loving favorite second born son!
Happy Birthday Pryce!

Springtime Fun

My favorite time of the year - spring!  And one of our favorite activities during the current season is heading out to the ballpark to watch Pryce play ball!
This year he has been pleased to be named first baseman for the team.  First base proves to provide a bit of excitement and Pryce is always there to catch a good pass, plant his foot on the base, and listen to the umpire call, "OUT!" as an opponent runs to claim his base.
When we aren't at the ballpark, we can be found finishing up our school year.  Admittedly so, the Drafts have a bit of spring fever so when the going gets tough, the tough go to play.  Recently, we met up with some friends at a local ice skating rink and thoroughly enjoyed playing for a day!
 With spring comes strawberries.  Yummo!
The children joined in with their cousins for a day of strawberry picking.
Pryce and Jay are our picky palates!  Jay is a Cheezits kind of guy and will eat strawberries when asked to.  Pryce, while he eats well with what he eats, is not a strawberry fan....he picked and then gave them all away!
Maddox took great pleasure in eating as she picked but finally slowed down a bit and came home with a container full.
So thankful for this crew and the fun they have together!
