Garden City 2020

Traditions run deep within my family.  Each year, dating way back to when my great-grandmother Ethel was alive, my mother's side of the family made an annual trek to Surfside/Garden City beach, SC.  It's been noted as the very best week of the year....one that we all look forward to and count down the days to.  The houses have changed a few times but the fun times continue to run strong within our roots.  We have our beach foods - Beaufort Stew, Pop's steak, boiled peanuts, Granny's trash, chewies, pound cake, Pop's pancakes, and our last morning Krispy Kreme donut assortment.  22 people, 2 houses, 6 additional guests this year for a few days.....
Corn hole, poker games (Skittles for loot), BS, Mafia....
Jaws....
kite flying....
Golf cart rides, sunset viewings, cloudy.all.day.long on the beach (the best!).....
family pictures....
new beach friends who don't know how to take pictures with my camera hence the mayhem in our group photo....
lots of talking and lots of reminiscing....
playing with Baby Hudson and listening to little Hayes....
getting the annual pic of mom/Gran with Aunt Kim - Aunt Kim always has the same expression each year...
Maddox is going to miss having dessert for breakfast...
MK loved playing with Hayes and eating real bacon vs. turkey bacon....
Maryn loved eating and eating more!
With Covid, things were a bit different....no eating out, no morning at the pier, and no water park....
