October and November 2022

 My birthday.

They all know how much I love my pillow, the pillow that has literally been with me through high school, college, marriage, childbirth, and five trips to China.  My pillow is my right hand man....where I go, it goes.

Many moons ago, when the boys were young and MK was the youngest, I had the idea to make a  pillowcase with their feet and handprints.  Since, that pillowcase has been on my pillow.

For my birthday, the children all got together and decided the pillowcase needed an update to include everyone!  To say it was the PERFECT gift is an understatement.  I love that they all worked together to make this happen!  I love that MK had the idea and put it into action - she is a great leader! I love that I now have a new case that includes all six of my precious gifts!

Mads and Maryn had their annual Halloween party with their dance studio.  It always proves to be a fun night and this year was no exception.  The girls had to choose other dancers to create a dance with and perform it at the party, costumes and all!  So.much.fun!

And then there were two.

Our witch and our snow leopard.  Halloween is one of those events that we don't make a huge deal out of but we all enjoy!  It's a time to get out into the neighborhood, see the fun decor, see neighbors/friends....our neighborhood is seriously like a scene from a movie - streets blocked off, food trucks on every corner, haunted houses, kids everywhere, movies on large screens playing, people handing out adult treats and kid treats too....it's like nothing I ever experienced as a child.

Maryn performed in her school Veteran's Day program and we were honored to have our favorite veteran join us for the morning!

My dear friend, Rebecca, went back into business for a short while and photographed the girls.  She captured their personalities perfectly just as I knew only she could.

Annie Jr.
Chapman decided to try musical theatre this Fall and she has officially been bitten by the theatre bug!  As a drama major in college, I am thrilled to have one who loves a good time on the stage!  She had a moment of sadness when she was cast as an orphan....her dream for this show was to be Pepper because "she says a bad word!" aka stupid, lol.  Alas, I told her she has plenty of time to be Pepper....her time will come!  The best part is that she had a wonderful experience, she grew a desire to do more shows, and she made wonderful memories.

Thanksgiving on the farm.  My father's aunt has hosted Thanksgiving in her home on the family farm since my father was a child.  Family come from all over the United States for this time together every Thanksgiving.  It is a large affair and one that holds a lot of memories within all of us.  This year was a bit different as it was cold and a lot drizzly....the warm sun was not seen.  But, we were together, we talked a lot, went on family walks, and took some needed family pics.  Thankful for these generational traditions!
