Days 7 and 8 - The Hoover Dam and Las Vegas

After an evening of cowboys shows, dinner by the pool and some good rest, we packed the car and began our drive to Las Vegas via the Hoover Dam.  Being from GA, we know what it feels like to be hot.  But nothing can quite prepares you for the HOT of Nevada….crazy hot.  We appreciated the air conditioned seats during this day in particular.  The Hoover Dam was a great stop along our way…..a good place to hop out, walk a bit, get back in the car, cool off, and walk some more to see a different view of the dam.  Amazing.

Following our Hoover Dam excursion, we continued our journey to Vegas.  Being that I have personally never been, I wanted to check it off of the bucket list.  And our boys definitely wanted to see it.  And our littles reminded me many times during this time in LV why it’s an adult place to visit vs a family-friendly destination. Maryn kept saying, “Mommy, did you see that?  It seems a little inappropriate.” However, we had a great time with some special visitors joining us in seeing all the things, eating more than once at Cheesecake Factory, playing a bit of craps, riding roller coasters in NYC….and taking all the pictures with the Las Vegas sign. It was a bit strange to go from all things National Parks and outdoorsy to fast-paced city life.
