Traveling to the Grand Canyon has long been on my sites to see with my family. I had the opportunity to visit the GC when I was in my late teens and it made a huge impression on me.....to see it in person is something everyone must do! Pictures do not do it justice.
We chose to do a bike tour and everyone LOVED it! I worried a bit about the weather - we visited in late July and I just knew it was going to be SO hot! However, the temps were barely 80 degrees during our stay and there was NO humidity - we definitely weren't in GA anymore!
As we coasted along the rim on the Grand Canyon, we made many stops along the way. Our tour guide was great about telling us the history or throwing in a story here in there. At one point Chapman was busy playing around a tree and I said to her, "Hey, Cha, come on over and see the Grand Canyon....it's so cool!" Her reply, "What?! It's just a big hole!" Clearly her five year old self was not impressed but the rest of our family left saying "WOW!"
Following our day at the Grand Canyon, we spent sometime on Route 66 having dinner and taking in a Wild West Cowboy show. There were many laughs throughout our night and it was a lovely time just chatting and being together as we walked along. We stayed in Williams, Arizona. Quaint little town.
