Maddox is happy. Giggly. Shy. Sweet. Jealous. Affectionate. Comfortable.
Maddox loves to dance. Climb. Feed her baby. Swing. Swim. Read books. Go outside.
Maddox can feed herself. Put clothes on and take them off, even if they are not hers :) Go up and down stairs. Jump. Do puzzles. Go to sleep on her own.
Maddox says "no, no!" "ball" "milk" "hi" "hello" "bye" "ma ma" "wow" "oh no" "uh oh" "quack quack" "meow"
She receives speech therapy once a week in our home and we will increase this to two times a week in September. She will not go peacefully into a nursery setting so we are taking baby steps to get her used to this environment. She did make the 20lb mark this past week - yay! And, we know this because she was sick - boo! All better now though.
Our adjustment to a family of six has been quite comical. Often, we find ourselves still saying "Table for 5" or "We have 3 children." And of course it has been five months and we STILL don't get the diaper bag packed accordingly - it either has diapers/wipes OR it has snacks, never does it have all of the above :) MK is doing great in her role of big sister. Her biggest challenge is the behavior of her little sister - little sister, as sweet as she is, can be a jealous little soul and she will push or hit MK. We continue to work through this. Thankfully, MK just takes it all in stride and doesn't retaliate. The boys are the boys - older, helpful, silly, fun and they LOVE having two sisters. They will go from playing baseball together to playing a board game with MK to watching Barney with Maddox. Ryan and I are just taking it all in - loving these days with our fab four!
