In MK news....we visited the cleft team on Wednesday for our annual cleft appointment at the local childrens hospital. She got good news from the speech therapist - speech is age appropriate at this time and does not require any additional therapy - yay! She also received a thumbs up from the plastic surgeon - palate looks good. And she got a thumbs down from the orthodontist. Her jaw continues to be of concern. All in all, the visit went well. Almost three years into this, I am now realizing that MK is a one doctor kind of girl. As much as she demands attention at home, she spats it away when four doctors come looking in on her at the same time. Also in MK land, she successfully finished up her last swim lesson on Saturday morning. She, at the age of barely 4, can swim the entire length of a junior Olympic size pool on her back and her tummy. She could technically participate in our neighborhood swim team this year so I asked her if she was interested. She asked, "Um, well, is that what my boys do?" I said, "Yes." MK asked, "Is that where all those people clap for the boys when they swim?" I said, "Yes." MK said, "Well, no, I don't like all those people clapping so I am not going to swim for them!" And that is that - maybe next year???

Just Dance 2

A very rare moment occurred in our home last night.....we had free time, all of us, no obligations, no unfinished work to be done, nada. So, we pulled out Just Dance 2 for the Wii. My remark on this would be that there are two in our family who are dance inclined and there are two that are not so much....
OhThe Food We Eat
Happy official Chinese New Year! This evening our family celebrated the holiday with a salad, egg roll and fortune cookie dinner. Yum. Keeping in mind that our two boys would die if they knew what was actually in the egg roll, they ate every bite - no questions asked! Now, our MK, keeping in mind that she is the Chinese born child in our family, she conveniently removed all of the egg roll contents and ate the fried outside part dipped in KETCHUP no doubt.
"Healthy" Snack
If you know me, you know my sweet tooth. Per my conversation with Pryce today, I learned that the apple really does not fall far from the tree. We were out and about. Pryce and MK had been with a friend who had given them all sorts of treats to eat. When I picked Pryce and MK up, Pryce asked if he could have a snack. I responded no due to the fact that I knew he had eaten sweets less than an hour before. He said, "But mom, we had a healthy snack. We had Peanut M&Ms, they had nuts in them and nuts are healthy." Sad but true, he was serious.
